European companies ready to invest in Iran

A number of the representatives of the European companies who participated in Kish First Exhibition on International Exchange, Bank Insurance, Capital Markets and Privatization and Iran’s 6th Investment Opportunities Exhibition in a meeting announced readiness for expanding cooperation with Iran and making investment in the country.

Listing Kish Island’s 34 economic advantages and the country’s favorable political and economic atmosphere, Rasoul Keshtpour, a senior advisor of Kish Free Zone, said the exhibition provides a suitable opportunity for the expansion of trade, financial and tourism cooperation between Iran and the European countries, IRNA reported.

He, who was speaking at the same meeting, stressed that Iran is the safest country in the region for foreign investors, adding since Kish Island is a free trade zone it offers facilities and incentives to foreign investors.

The island is a favorable place for expanding economic and tourism activities, Keshtpour said.

Among the other topics discussed in the session were development of trade between Iran and the European Union, establishment of a tourism route between Kish and Greece and other European nations and boosting trade communications with these countries.

The Kish First Exhibition on International Exchange, Bank Insurance, Capital Markets and Privatization which was opened on October 21 had some guests from 105 domestic companies and 15 foreign companies from Russia, Greece, Canada, the Netherlands, Cyprus, Germany, Britain, Australia, Denmark, Venezuela, Tajikistan and Iraq.

The expo aims to represent capabilities of domestic and foreign financial institutes and showcase new banking services, expertise of international capital market and new insurance services.
